hello Monday!
over the weekend…
the newsletter rolled out featuring this runner…
with a wonky star…
I seem to be tossing them in quite a few projects lately…
I thought I would share here a bit of my process….
place a creme square (I usually use a larger square than the print one…so if my print square is 5 inches, then I cut my creme square to 6.5 inches)
on an angle over the print square…right sides together and sew 1/4 inch from the edge of the creme square
these points are improv, so there is no right or wrong size
I like to trim off the excess
repeat these steps for the other three star points
here is how my star looks before sewing the piece together…
I hope this helps…
I am still planning on a pattern sheet for this runner…
if you would like one, leave me a comment or email me – brooke@sillymamaquilts.com
and the giveaway for the week…
spy something fun??
Happy Sewing!
I see some Handcrafted in there!
That is a really simple and interesting way to make a wonky star. Thanks for the tip. x
I’d like more detailed instructions on making the runner with the wonky star.
Love it! 🙂
Like your wonky star. I spy bold pink colors.
Love the fabric with the stars on it!
I think I am going to include a wonky star in my next throw! Currently playing with mustard and navy fabrics, with one pop of hot pink which I think will be my star block! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
