how is your medallion coming??
ready for another round of borders?
so as we begin….
I finally finished my first and second borders during the catch up week!
while doing these borders, I discovered a few tips I thought I would share….
press often!
use a bit of spray like flatter by soak or Mary Ellen’s best press
measure, measure…I usually don’t but for this project I have found it invaluable!!
border 3 is a simple strip…
so glad after all those triangles!!
border and posts are cut 1.75 inches
after a bit of debate….
here is my border all sewn on!
for border 4, I am planning on using these fabrics…
this next border is flying geese…
I am planning on doing magic corners on a rectangle…
I know Sally using a different method…
we also talked size…the book calls for them to be 2 x 3.75
but since I did a different triangle method, and I am a bit tired of small pieces!!
I am going to make mine 2×4 finished…I will probably need a coping strip, but I am okay with that….

and here is the giveaway for this week!
heads up – I will draw a winner on Thursday morning!
I have a fun post for Friday you don’t want to miss!!!
Happy Sewing!

I just LOVE the sweet colors of your giveaway this week! Thanks for the chance to win!
The medallion is looking good. Looking forward to seeing all the flying geese, particularly like the orange prints you have chosen. Thanks for a fun giveaway too. x
The border looks nice, it really ties it together well!
Your medallion is gorgeous. It does look like a challenge to sew!
Love that plus pattern fabric hiding in the back. Your medallion is looking good!
Looking good. I like the blue border you’ve added, it looks quite heavy compared to the other parts and I think it will hold the piece together. I just noticed your rotary cutter too. How nice is that!!
Your medallion is looking fabulous !
I like the dark fabric with white crosses
I like how it’s coming so far! I think the larger flying geese will look good too.
Your giveaway is loaded with my kind of colors. The blue polka dot is just what I need to finish a project!
I especially love the polka dots.
The medallion quilt is coming along beautifully !!!
Beautiful quilt. Love the scrap pile. Very pretty.
You’ve inspired me! For years I’ve procrastinated….no more! I plan to start a medallion quilt this weekend! Your’s is delightful and the colors are just perfect so joyful! Pulling my scrappy fabric bin out now! Thanks for the creative push! 🙂
Your blocks are great. They look like so much work…maybe I’m just being lazy. 🙂 But I do want to try my hand at some paperpieced hexies, and these fabrics would be perfect for that!!! Thanks so much.
Your medallion is beautiful!
The borders really frame the center! I love piece work made only with patterned fabric but I’m not confident in doing it. I really like seeing you put this together.
I wasn’t into the medallion craze, but watching yours come together is really fun (and makes me want to put it on my to-do list!). But wow, some of those pieces are small! Can’t wait to see more!!
Your quilt is so colorful and bright! You are putting lots of work and love into it.
Love your quilt:)
This is a great selection. You are doing a great job on the quilt, it looks fantastic.
