hello Monday!
so….if you are like me…Christmas sewing commences on Thanksgiving weekend…
there is just something classic about red and white…
I have had these older prints from 3 Sisters for sometime…
I cut some 2.5 inch squares…
and sewed them together….
I also cut a 1 inch piece of tiny red stripe to use as a flange….
I sewed the flange to one edge of the squares…
and then sewed that unit to each end of the 3 Sister Roman Holiday red print
I did some simple meandering in the red and anchored the square units on each end…
what do you think??
and since this is Cyber Monday….enjoy 26% off plus FREE SHIPPING in my shop!
with CYBERMONDAY15 coupon code….this includes destash and patterns too!
here is the fabric scrap giveaway for the week….
spy something fun??
Happy Sewing!
I love the simple tutorial, thanks for sharing. I do think that you can’t do better than classic colour sometimes. I have a few Christmas presents made but wanted to get a table runner and another stocking done too. I do think I have run out of time though as tomorrow I start work for the first time in 19 years. I will miss being at home but needs must, so onwards and upwards. x
I love that you don’t have to use it just for Christmas. It’s beautiful! Love that red main fabric with the big leaves! And love that stripe you used for binding.
I loe red and white too!
Do I see some Ruby???
What’s not to love about Christmas fabric, the mittens really caught my eye. Thanks for the tute!
I love projects that use a combo of saved favorite fabrics!
Those mittens are sooo sweet!!
Thanks for the cool Tutorial!!! 🙂 LOOOOVE those Mittens…and all the pretty green prints…and the scraps from your Tutorial too! Thank you for chance to win! 🙂
Ooh, that mitten print is cute!
This is so beautiful Brooke! I love red and white too 🙂
Love reds, anytime. Good tutorial. Thanks so much.
Thank you for the tutorial – so appreciated! A little Ruby and In from the Cold? Thank you!
What a beautiful and simple table runner! And I think the teepee sounds like a fantastic idea for your grandson. 🙂 I started Christmas sewing in the beginning of October, mostly because I finished the quilt I was working on and needed something to do in the evenings. I’m having fun! Today I sewed a whole slew of potholders that the kids and their friends designed for teacher gifts, etc. I used some of your scraps — there’s one I turned into binding; it’s brown with a chevron in orange, red, pink and blue that bound a bright potholder my little 2 yr. old neighbor designed. 🙂 Very happy!
Love the cute mittens in the scraps! Like your table runner; red & white looks good together.
