Quiet Time quilt
Finished size is 26 x 35
This is actually a two sided quilt. I designed this piece for Tamara Kate using the Quiet Time fabric line. It was displayed in Tamara’s booth at Fall Quilt Market.
I cut 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3.5 inch strips of the entire line.
For one side, I sewed them in random order using the full width of each strip.
My finished width was 26 inches.
The second side has fussy cut designs from the two different colorways of the Princess print.
I used the wrong side of the first side as a guide for size and placement.
I constructed a variety of strip units like this one pictured to use around the fussy cut blocks.
Sewing this side together is a lot like building a puzzle. You cut and sew a bit and repeat. I did lay my 3.5 inch borders for the top and bottom for placement guides. To help distribute color and prints, I sew short strips together rather than sewing the full width of fabric.
Here is the finished side before quilting. The pieced portion measured 22 x 36 before adding the border pieces.
I quilted this piece with an off-centered circle to compliment all the straight lines. I used Warm and Natural cotton batting.
Very cute!!! BTW, I got my package and the girls just oohed and ahhed over the pretty fabric scraps! Can’t wait to make something with them! Thank you!!!

Hi, I would like to try quilting a small project I have with a similar design. Can you tell me if you used a domestic machine or any guides? Thanks for any help you can give me.
