hello Wednesday!
so with my secret sewing project comes pattern writing…
this time I decided to print out a previous similar project I had written to use as a guide and then take some notes to correspond with the photos I take to document each step…
it was a tad easier to write up the pattern with these notes, so I will be repeating this process with my next pattern…
who knows, I may be onto something here…
looking forward to seeing what you are working on…
linking up with Lorna and Quiltfabrication…
the giveaway today has a Christmas theme to it…
I thought it would be fun to share…
leave a comment to enter…
I will announce a winner on Friday…
Happy Sewing!
ps – I am looking for a few pattern testers…I do need feedback done by December 10th…
Great idea for the pattern writing! Can’t wait to see the finished project!
I would not have any idea about writing a pattern. I’m glad that there are quilters like you who know how and I can just follow the pattern.
The written portion is the hardest for me because I have to shorten everything. Since writing my blog I have gotten a wee better. I’m one to over explain in minute detail. Thank you for the linky party. Good luck on your secret sewing and pattern writing.
Is the give away fabric Winters Lane?
I would have no idea how to write a pattern but I think the more notes the better.
Ooh, Winter’s Lane and/or Winterberry, such gorgeous fabric lines!
I don’t write patterns, love you all who do! I normally just write my notes on the pattern so I don’t get lost. heheheh.
Hi Brooke! I don’t know what you are writing, but those pictures look intriguing. The fabrics – the colors are so pleasing and those cute hearts!! It looks like you’ve found your writing mojo and what works for you. Happy Happy Wednesday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne
I give a lot of credit to pattern writers. I’ve written two and know first hand how difficult it is. So my hat’s off to you. Great happy looking, not so little, but oh so cute, fabric scraps.
Nice. I love it when we learn something new, or figure out another great way to do something. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Hugs, Lori
Oooh! I love the Winter’s Lane (& Return to Winter’s Lane) fabric line!
Thank you for writing patterns that inspire the rest of us!
I would love to be a pattern tester. I’m a better tester than writer…:)
I have to give Kudos to pattern writers! That would be too tedious for me. Love the little redbirds in the trees and all the co-ordinating fabrics with it. Thanks for the chance to win!
Very interesting! I know nothing about writing a pattern. It is easier for me to show someone how to do something than tell them. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway.
Suspence, suspence… Love the holly fabric!
Love that tree print! Thanks for sharing
Love these fabrics & colors too! Thank you for chance to win your Give-a-way 🙂 I can’t imagine howmuch work goes into pattern matter.. ( just know it has to be intense and alot of time & work.
The tree print is gorgeous!!!!
Great Christmas fabric! I can truthfully say that pattern making is not my forte!

I’ve written notes and plans for my own small projects…not an easy endeavour… so I admire those that write tutorials with pictures!
such sweet little birds, what line is that?
Oh my goodness, look at that Christmas loveliness! I am going to pass on the pattern testing, as I have the flu and wouldn’t be timely, but next time I’ll be tossing my hat high in the air for a chance to try out one of your fun patterns.
Love the trees with cardinals fabric !
