Love your sewing studio!! The natural lighting is an added bonus too!!! Is it a room with a view?

I have been reorganizing my room and trying to mentally adjust to the post Christmas mindset! Working on my Christmas quilt – I am adding more borders to make it a bed size quilt! Love your window!

I haven’t been in the sewing room in over two weeks. Hope to get in there this weekend and get things straightened up. When I don’t work in there often, it becomes the dumping ground for things that need to be put away. 🙂

I am so relieved to have all of the Christmas gifts done and given out. Now I can get back to what I really enjoy- The Sewing and not the stressing!

I am trying to finish making a queen size quilt that I have been working on for some time. I’m down to adding one row and then the borders. This has been a project, but is going to be beautiful when quilted.

Your studio looks wonderful. My dream is to have my own sewing space, presently my machine lives in the hallway and all my sewing things are under my bed. It takes a while to get it all out and set it up each time, and there is always something I forget and have to go upstairs for at some point. I would love to have it all in one place and just be able to sew whenever I wanted without the hassle of clearing a space in the kitchen and getting it all together. Now all my presents are finished I really want to finish a long term project of an EPP quilt. x

It would be wonderful to have a clean studio!! But I just keep pulling out more fabric for the next project! I just finished piecing my third Chunky race quilt-they are kinda addicting. I hope to get one of them quilted today.

Pretty subtle colors. I like your sewing space, but I think I would be gazing out that window too much. LOL I am trying to clean up before the new year starts too. Happy New Year!

What a relaxing set of charms.

I’ve gotten a head start on my 1.5″ scrap basket – making Courthouse Step blocks. It feels wonderful, but also – “how many blocks are coming out of this basket”!! These are my January quilts, that are very simply quilted and sometimes just top-stitched at the edges and sometimes finished with binding. I’ll have about 5 lap size quilt tops when done. Sometimes I ask myself, why I keep all of these scraps, but when the finished quilts are squealed over with delight – that is the only reason and thanks I need :)!

Today is my first day back in my sewing room, it was nice to break and enjoy family and friends, I have 3 quilts on the go – 2 of which are for me, and ordering fabric for quilt orders, January is going to be a busy month but I love that.

Your sewing room looks fabulous! I am in the process of getting my Fabric Storage Area all organized for the new year; I do my actual sewing at my kitchen table! The fabrics you chose for the give away are lovely and I would be delighted to win them! Thank you for sharing and have a fantastic creative day!

Not working at anything at the moment! I will go back home in a few days and will try to make a muslin for a simple dress.

I haven’t been doing much. I am recovering from rotator cuff surgery I had in November, my should had a little run in with the car door on a windy day – was a big set back for me 🙁 But I am determined to get a scrap quilt done in 2017 along with Christmas quilts for each of my 3 kids.

I have one more holiday get together to attend and I finished the last gift this morning. I look forward to making some things just for fun at the start of the new year.

Love those charms. Now that the holidays are pretty much over, I will be able to use my dining table to sew at again.

  21. Vicki H December 28, 2016 at 8:06 pm #

I have spent a couple of days trying to organize my sewing room. Once I start a new project, I won’t be able to see my table again.

No quilting recently, but I have spent some useful time considering what I want to accomplish in 2017, so that my goals will be more realistic and also more satisfying. I’m thinking of this as pre-quilting time.
