hello Monday!
fabric shopping just has to be one of the best aspects of being a quilter…
so my older daughter and I are collaborating on a wedding quilt project…
however the fact that we live several states apart means that we are doing fabric shopping long distance…
these are the fabrics she selected…
I am looking forward to seeing them in person…
and the fabric giveaway for today….
spy something good??
leave me a comment to enter…
I will announce a winner on Friday…
Happy Sewing!
I’ m a sucker for those red polka dots! Happy Monday!
I love the little triangle set pieces. My daughter and I live several states apart also. We are making a quilt for her new home. It is a challenge, but fun!!
Wow! A wedding quilt…no pressure there. sjvonfumetti at yahoo dot com
how fun. hope things turn out exceptional with wedding happenings. I know from experience that my cell phone photos of fabric were way off. This was frustrating for the lady I was sewing for. But we made it.
When I made a civil war wedding quilt with civil war fabrics for my son, he would send me pictures of fabrics he saw that he would like in the quilt. I would go to the store he mentioned and they did not have it. The pictures turned out so different from the actual. I finally asked him when he saw a fabric he like for the quilt, just pick up a yard or two and give it to me. This worked out great.
Have fun on making your wedding quilt.
Such pretty flowers and fabrics in the give a way.
You know if things get tricky you can snail mail those swatches. Maybe a swatch swap would take out some of the anxiety? Personally, I think matching shades exactly is over rated, and a variety of colors will give the quilt depth.
Thank goodness for cell phones to send pictures. Love the neutral fabric she picked. I like the green dots of the scraps.
Lovely fabrics. It will be beautiful!! Good luck everyone in the giveaway! angielovesgary2 atgmail dotcom
I love the dots but I can’t spot any AG!! maybe Bonnie and Camille?
So many pretty fabrics. I like the red and green polka dots. Also the pretty blue fabric behind the green polka dot fabric and the white background fabric at the left corner of the green polka dot fabric.
Sounds like you are going to have fun making a quilt for your daughter.
I’m a bit smitten with all the blues poking out. They would make a great addition to the scrappy quilt I’m making for my son’s 24th birthday!
The red dots look wonderful! Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway.
I’m a sucker for those blues. My sister and I will start a quilt after Easter for our nephew getting married this September. She’s in Wisconsin and I’m in Louisiana. Looking forward to spending time with her.
Love the polka dots & flower prints!! Thank you for chance to win your give-a-way too… 🙂
Gosh, I think the blue cameo-type print is so pretty, but then I keep looking at the lime green, which makes me think I have no idea what I love, or I love all fabric, which may be more like it. 😉
Long-distance fabric shopping can be challenging, but it’s also a way to feel close when you’re apart, don’t you think? I’ve done that with my dearest friend, and the sharing and collaborating was such a bonding experiencing at a time when I was missing her. I hope you and your daughter enjoy yourselves.
Shades of blue, my favourite. I like the cream Moda fabric for the wedding quilt
I love all of the blues.
Always a fan of dots…so timeless
Like the red polka dots! Thank heaven for smart phones!
