hello Monday!
if you have been here often, then you know I in the midst of creating some projects using Blush and Bloom by Melissa Ybarra of Iza Pearl Design for Windham Fabrics
but what to design??
what to make??
would you be asking that question??
so today I thought I would share just a bit about what goes through my head when I receive fabric like this and am asked to create projects….
sometimes I am inspired with pieces I have done and would like to re-create with a bit of a different twist…
this piece currently hangs in my studio…do you remember any of these fabrics??
here is a bit of a sneak peek of one of my new Blush and Bloom creations…
sometimes once the fabric arrives and I see it in person…I am inspired to take a different direction than I first planned…
pictures in magazines or on pinterest can also help inspire new ideas…
so….what projects would you create with this line??
I am planning on writing up some patterns for these new projects…interested in proofreading/pattern testing??
leave me a comment or email me – brooke@sillymamaquilts.com
and the giveaway for this week…spy something fun??
Happy Sewing!
I’d definitely be interested in some pattern testing!
What fabulous colours!! I love your spiral quilting.
I see lots of fun! Love the tape measure fabric especially. Your blush and bloom fabrics are lovely, that zig zag quilt looks great. I would make quilts, but then, I always want to make quilts. And I agree that once you actually have the fabrics in your hands then plans sometimes must change!
Many of the prints would make cute clothes- I could see some floral sundresses for a little girl! I wouldn’t mind a bag out of some of those ikat- style prints!
Still seeing Sewing Box Tape Measures! Yay! And a bit of Good Neighbors! Plus signs..and Stars in Circles..cute! Looove them all!!
Oh, I’d definitely feel the same way! All that gorgeous fabric and the pressure to create something totally unique and special….the stress!!! I’d do the same thing and look through pinterest or books and magazines I have on hand for inspiration. I’d be interested in proofreading and/or pattern testing for you, Brooke. I am not a seasoned quilter, but love to sew and have many years of experience!
I see some fun prints and bright cheery colours!!
Wow, that new fabric line is wonderful! As for the little scraps, I like those black and white crosses!
The fabric would be fun to sew girl’s dresses with those ruffles. I spy plus signs and still some tape measure scraps.
I’m still loving those measuring tapes. I think you had some like that a few weeks ago! And the new fabric line is gorgeous. How fun to get to play with it!!!
I’m very detailed so would be happy to test a pattern. Great fabrics.
I see that sewing tape measure fabric again!
I saw stars!!
Awesome spiral quilting!
I love the Blush and Bloom rail fence quilt.
Gosh there is nothing more fun then new fabric to play round with and find the perfect design for it. thank you
Rail Fence table runner for a special girl whom loves blooms, pink and handmade anything. Thank you Brooke for sharing your inspiration and I love the spiral quilting:)
I would love to use this fabric to make a quilt, coordinating pillow cases and shams, … Thank you for your inspiration and the chance to win.
I love this line! I would use this line to create some new tote bags! Let me know if you need pattern testers! I would be very interested. I teach advanced sewing at a high school and I am sure they could test the pattern, too!
I’m sorry…I never understand your giveaways? Are you giving away the scrap fabrics? Are we supposed to comment on what scrap we find fun? Help?
