design help and a giveaway

I am a sucker for kits….so when I saw this in the Summer 2013 Quilts and More Scrap Lab….I was hooked!

I have actually been eyeing this line for a bit…Textured Basics by Patty Young, so 6 fat eighths plus 1/2 yard of the cream was right up my alley!

I got started with this…I changed up my strips sizes compared with the pillow example in the magazine article….I liked a bit larger size….

So now I am to here….still need to sew on the last strip in this round….

But now what….should I keep going??  Or start and make another block and design a runner of blocks??  I don’t want to buy anymore fabric, so I am challenging myself to make due with what I have here….
What would you do??

Here is the giveaway for the week…some fun goodies, of course….anything catch your eye??  Happy Sewing!

I think the pillow looks great as it is!! You’ll still need fabric for the backing? If so, that’s what I would use the leftovers for 🙂

it could be a really cute summer table runner! do you have enough for two more blocks? they look nubby, are they thicker than a normal quilting cotton?

I would make a second block for the back, then it would be reversible.

Oh dear, that’s no fun. Maybe you could piece something into that corner…make it a design element! It would still make a great pillow. It’s such fun fabric. =)

I like the pillow as it is. Depending upon where this possible pillow will go, maybe make some cute little coordinating coasters to match. Thanks for the giveaway!

I’ve been trying real hard to use what I have lately, too. I’m just drowning in stuff at my house! Love this new fabric. The texture, colors, and design is just great! I have no idea what to do next. I am feeling pretty uncreative these days. Sorry, dude.

The block is really cute and I say “more is more!”. I love the idea to use multiple blocks for a runner. If your fabric pieces aren’t big enough could you mix in some half size blocks?

I’m liking the idea to design a runner of blocks… by now you must know that I am partial to table runners, right? lol It’s looking great… makes me think of popsicles!!

I love the large dots! How about adding a piano keys border? I like the look of them, and it would be a nice frame for what you have already!
