I am a sucker for kits….so when I saw this in the Summer 2013 Quilts and More Scrap Lab….I was hooked!
I have actually been eyeing this line for a bit…Textured Basics by Patty Young, so 6 fat eighths plus 1/2 yard of the cream was right up my alley!
I got started with this…I changed up my strips sizes compared with the pillow example in the magazine article….I liked a bit larger size….
So now I am to here….still need to sew on the last strip in this round….
But now what….should I keep going?? Or start and make another block and design a runner of blocks?? I don’t want to buy anymore fabric, so I am challenging myself to make due with what I have here….
What would you do??
Here is the giveaway for the week…some fun goodies, of course….anything catch your eye?? Happy Sewing!
I think the pillow looks great as it is!! You’ll still need fabric for the backing? If so, that’s what I would use the leftovers for 🙂
it could be a really cute summer table runner! do you have enough for two more blocks? they look nubby, are they thicker than a normal quilting cotton?
I would make a second block for the back, then it would be reversible.
Oh dear, that’s no fun. Maybe you could piece something into that corner…make it a design element! It would still make a great pillow. It’s such fun fabric. =)
Make another block for the back, maybe in another technic.
I love using up all my precious bits of fabric, I am sure what you choose will be great.
What bright, cheery fabrics. I spy some really neat fabrics this week…hope I win!
I like the pillow as it is. Depending upon where this possible pillow will go, maybe make some cute little coordinating coasters to match. Thanks for the giveaway!
A runner of blocks would look lovely! and…I love all the dots I see! 🙂
I see awesome dots! And are those books?
Love thosefabrics. I think I like the idea of the runner…
I adore polka dots, and I’m loving the light aqua one.
Make a different block for the back and have a revisable pillow. Thanks for the giveaway.
How about a second block for the back then you could turn it over for a different look. I think I might also see a book, hmmm!
Dots! I love anything with dots! So I love the block you made. Thanks for the giveaway!
I’ve been trying real hard to use what I have lately, too. I’m just drowning in stuff at my house! Love this new fabric. The texture, colors, and design is just great! I have no idea what to do next. I am feeling pretty uncreative these days. Sorry, dude.
Love the polka dots and blue hlowers
The block is really cute and I say “more is more!”. I love the idea to use multiple blocks for a runner. If your fabric pieces aren’t big enough could you mix in some half size blocks?
I’m liking the idea to design a runner of blocks… by now you must know that I am partial to table runners, right? lol It’s looking great… makes me think of popsicles!!
no matter what u decide, keep sewing with the dots!!
I love the large dots! How about adding a piano keys border? I like the look of them, and it would be a nice frame for what you have already!
Great fabrics Brooke – I love the multi coloured polka dots!
