hello Monday!
and if you live in the states…Happy Memorial Day!
a few weeks ago…my Mom was here visiting…
and since we don’t get many opportunities to sew together…
I thought it would be fun to pull fabrics from my stash and make a quilt top together…
we decided to use the pattern Yellow Brick Road as a guide…and made some improvisations as we went…
this is going to be such a fun quilt!!
as you can tell, we had a fun time together…
and the fabric scrap giveaway for today…
spy something fun??
leave me a comment to enter…
I will announce a winner on Friday…
Happy Sewing!
Such a sweet post. x
your quilt is gong to be wonderful. how special that you and your mom can sew together. these are going to be lasting memories.
Lovely! I think the quilt will have most significance just being a mother-daughter project you did together. Very nice!
How fortunate you are to have your Mother to see with you. It will be a quilt you will remember when fondly. I saw a scrap of red?
How nice to be able to sew with your mom! Enjoy the holiday! Love the fabrics you pulled out of your stash – those seahorses are so cute!
It looks like a great time. You fabric looks like the ocean.
You are so lucky to have spent the day as you did, Quilting is a great thing to share. I am lucky to have a daughter who has caught my bug. I love the blue in the right hand corner. Enjoy your day.
Love your color choices, is that a piece of cork in the scraps?
Ha-Ha, it looks like we are laying down on the job! It was lovely to sew with you and I wish we could do it more often. I love seeing all your projects. And I love YOU. ~Mom
That must be the best sewing day ever!
Love the blues and greens for your project. I like all the blues in the scraps too! π
The quilt is going to be beautiful and also special because of the shared experience. Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway.
I have tried to get my Mum to take up a relationship with her sewing machine again after a twenty year break, but no joy. Itβs my fault really, I got her hooked on gardening a couple of decades ago, and the bug for that one has stuck. Over seventy, and taking care of the neighbours gardens, since hers is all under control, and apparently too small (quarter acre). I hope you find a loving home for your quilt.
it”s great that you can stitch with your mom. I’ll enjoy seeing what you two created with these great fabrics.
xx, Carol
How fun to sew with your Mom! The color palate you picked is great!
Happy Tuesday Brooke!
What a joy to quilt with your mom. Treasure those times; they make the sweetest memories–and pretty dang cute quilts, too. π
Love all the blue scraps!
