I love it when I can create something just from stash, it always feels like it is completely free then. I have just cut out a baby quilt from stash in the tumbler design and need to get it stitched up. I adore a good text fabric, probably due to the fact that I am an avid reader so this combine the two. x

I’ll bet you’re the favorite auntie in your family, Brooke! Having several new babies in one year will be tons of fun! How lucky for them! I do get a thrill when I can sew up a project from my stash, but that stash just doesn’t seem to go down much. Love those text fabrics!

I’ve been procrastinating on making a baby quilt for my nephew and his wife. I need to follow you, maybe simple and cute is the right way to go.

How fun, looking forward to the new babies. And it feels great to quilt from the stash!

Yes, I (still) do love text fabric. I was a fan before it was everywhere, and I was searching hither and yon for it, and it amazed me when suddenly it was being marketed to me. And I am delighted when people like Sarah F. are still coming up with fun variations. The words she chose to use in her Word Play are great. I won’t get tired of reading those, or challenging the kids in our family to use them in sentences.

Really, it is so gratifying to use stash for a project. We have so much and 99% of the time what we need can be found in the closet or the drawers. Lovely quilt for your great niece or nephew!! Cute text prints too.

Glad to join the linky party today. Your mentioning baby quilts makes me think of all that I made or helped daughters make last year – 6 all totaled, I believe. Good luck with yours!

Text fabric is one of my favorites, I have a granddaughter that is just learning the alphabet and numbers. This would be great in a toddlers quilt.

The colors and fabrics in your new baby quilt look lovely! I too have been busy making some quilt tops using fabrics from my scrap baskets – my January and February projects :)! I often had to think of you, as I cut and worked away – some of these scraps came you – which was special – thank you!

  24. Shasta January 11, 2018 at 10:22 am #

Those are pretty fabrics – they are going to make a great baby quilt. I have admired the text fabrics but don’t have any of my own yet. I can think of lots of uses for them.
