wee wander pillow project and a giveaway

wee wander pillow
so I couldn’t resist….I just had to make another pillow using this adorable wee wander line…
today, I am going to share a bit of a tutorial project as a compliment to the newsletter project so many of you have commented on.
wee wander fabric
I have such a hard time selecting prints from this line as I love them all!!
wee wander pillow
for this project I fussy cut the horse grouping and then added some 2.5 inch strips to frame it for one side…

I selected a grouping from this print for the other side…again, using 2.5 inch strips to frame it. Each of these sides I made into 16 inch square. I did some simple straight line quilting on each side using fun variegated thread.

now since I have a two-sided pillow, I put a zipper in at the bottom! I recently purchased some 22 or 24 inch zippers from zipit for this type of project. I sewed the zipper with basically the same method that I use for make a zippered pouch. I am in love!!

so one pillow with two different looks – awesome!! I can see I will be doing this idea again…
giveaway
and here is the giveaway for the week…there are some fun goodies in there…spy something??
if you have any questions about my project, email me or leave a comment here…
Happy Sewing!

I love the idea of the double sided cushion. What I love most though is your tip on inserting the zip as if it were a pouch. I always use an envelope backing on my cushions as I am not great at zips, but doing it this way will give me a 2 sided cushion now. Thanks for a fun giveaway too. xx

I need to get some of that before it’s gone forever. I missed out on some super awesome Heather Ross back in 2007. One of those things I’ll always remember. (I got married that year hence the date memory.)
